Privacy Policy

Effective August 26, 2026

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Medicare Plus Inc. ("Medicare Plus", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you enrol in and use our health plans, when you or your covered dependants avail of care, and when you use this website.

We handle your information in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

2. Personal information we collect

To enrol and service your membership, we collect: your name, date of birth, gender, and civil status; contact details such as mobile number, email, Viber, and address; your source of income and source of funds; and government identifiers you provide, such as your TIN and PhilHealth number.

For corporate members, we also process the name of your employer, your role, and the membership card number issued to you. We collect this information from you directly, from your employer (for corporate plans), and as you use our services.

3. Sensitive personal information, including health data

Because we are a health plan, we collect sensitive personal information — in particular your Health Declaration, medical history, any pre-existing conditions, and the clinical information generated when you request a Letter of Authorization (LOA) or file a claim or reimbursement.

We treat this information as sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act and apply additional safeguards to it. We collect it only to the extent needed to underwrite, authorise, and pay for your care.

4. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to assess and price your plan, issue and activate your membership, authorise and pay for medical availments, process claims and reimbursements, service and renew your membership, respond to your enquiries, and comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases are your consent, the performance of your membership contract, compliance with our legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the plan — always balanced against your rights.

5. Who we share it with (providers, and our processors)

We share the information necessary to arrange and pay for your care with accredited hospitals, clinics, and doctors. We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf — for example IT hosting, communications, and payment processing — under written confidentiality and data-protection terms.

We may disclose information to regulators, courts, or authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you are a member and, afterwards, for the period required by law and by tax and regulatory rules, and as needed to resolve any claim, benefit, or dispute.

When it is no longer needed for these purposes, we securely dispose of or de-identify it.

7. How we protect it

We apply organisational, physical, and technical safeguards, including role-based access controls, encryption of data in transit, audit logging, and confidentiality obligations on our staff and partners.

Access to your information — especially your health data — is limited to the personnel who need it to serve you.

8. Your rights under the Data Privacy Act

You have the right to be informed, to access your information, to have it corrected, to object to certain processing, to have it erased or blocked (subject to legal limits), to data portability, and to be indemnified for damage caused by a violation.

You may also lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer using the details below.

9. Information about your dependants

If you enrol dependants, you confirm that you are authorised to provide their personal information and that they (or their parent or guardian, if a minor) are aware of and consent to this policy.

We process a dependant’s information for the same purposes and with the same protections described here.

10. Cookies and the website

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your progress through enrolment, and improve the experience.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work correctly without them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the current version, and we will communicate material changes through our usual channels.

Your continued use of our services after an update means you have read the current version.
